Yesterday morning was a wash out.  Before sunrise this morning the air was clear.   The teal were piping, click here. The recent rains have now filled the paddle boat pond to capacity.

January has started wet and, this morning, a bit breezy. Nearly an inch of rain yesterday and one of the gardens along North Road is pretty wet. Despite the high wind the sea is quite calm.

Last year was drier than 2016 but the December rain (over 5 inches) meant that it wasn’t quite as dry as I had anticipated earlier in the month.  This morning’s sunrise was more colourful and there were some photographers on the groynes to capture it.

Sunrise New Year’s Day Still an hour and a half til high tide and the sea is up to the cliffs. This morning’s surfer clapping hands to keep warm.

The beach towards Easton Bavents seems busier today than in the summer. The corn stubble has still not been ploughed. Patricia, a buoy laying vessel, off the coast. The reed heads bright in the afternoon sun.

Lots of heavy rain in the past 24 hours.  New cliff fall over the holiday period and a lone surfer.
