Very heavy rain and high winds stopped play this morning.  This blackbird perched obligingly yesterday afternoon.  The yellow beak shows that it is a native rather than a migrant from the continent.

Almost an inch of rain fell in the past couple of days.  The marsh harrier is still hunting and a jay flew past this morning.  The linnets are looking very colourful this time of the year. Click here for more photos.
