Yesterday I saw the first sand martins, swallows and a whitethroat.


Skylarks on the ground

 And mallards

One on the roof


A wren singing in the willows


And colourful greenfinches

In some bushes at Easton Bavents, there was a treasure trove of birds this morning, tree sparrows, siskin, reed buntings, chaffinch and yellowhammer.  This is the first time we have spotted it here and it is now added to the bird project list. Almost an inch of rain fell in the past couple of days.  The marsh harrier is still hunting and a jay flew past this morning.  The linnets are looking very colourful this time of the year. Click here for more photos.
