Almost an inch of rain fell in the past couple of days.  The marsh harrier is still hunting and a jay flew past this morning.  The linnets are looking very colourful this time of the year. Click here for more photos.

More ducklings near the lagoon, two pairs of avocet and a common sandpiper.  A pair of oystercatchers in the sheep paddock and nearby a female blackcap. Click here for all photos.

There were more garden cockchafers on the cliff this morning, some were mating.  Lapwing and two oystercatchers on the lagoon and a song thrush in a nearby tree. Click here for all today's photos.

I saw this the other day and it reminded me of a snowy owl (aka plastic bag).

There was a linnet on a distant bush, unfortunately too far for a decent picture but it is possible to see its very dark pink breast.

Garden cockchafer on cliffs at Easton Bavents They could be seen flying around together with ichneumon flies.
